Sorry, I hit the "reply with quote" button instead of the simple "reply" button. My PM was to the OP and gave the same answer that I've posted here twice. He doesn't seem to really want the answer.

    Hi Guys

Thanks you so much for your help/comments.

The solution provided by Jalerie is excellent and almost exactly what I need.

The only addition to Jalerie's form is the inclusion of a "down payment" box. That's to say, if the user also had a down payment/deposit then it would be great to add that figure under the "How much would you like to pay each time" section. It's basically an addition to the final "you could borrow" figure. Is this possible? If so, what code would I need to add?

Again any help would be fully appreciated. However, you guys have already done far too much for me!

    Best regards

PM me, reply to the PM that I sent to you, or e-mail me from that page (my name at the bottom) on my site, and I'll see what I can do for you.

    Hi guys

With the help of the excellent James Alarie I have been able to create a calculator which now tells my users what they can afford to borrow. My code is crassly based on the one provided by James ( I have little knowledge of javascript) and can be seen here:

    ------------------------------------
    Code:
    Removed per author's request
    ------------------------------------

It works just fine except for the "Total budget" box. Ideally, when the user hits the "Calculate" button the value in the "deposit" pulldown would be added to the value in the "LA" box and the total of both then appear in the "Totalbudget" box.

Has anyone got any ideas how I can make this work. I'm so very close to getting it to work how I need!

Any help would be fully appreciated

    Best regards

    Hi Jmrker

I'm so sorry I have no idea what an "error console" actually is.

My age is throwing up no errors if that helps?

    Best regards

The code posted by rjoseph is not "based on" mine, it is an exact stolen copy of mine. Could a moderator please remove it?

I offered to help rjoseph make the changes he wanted and to customise it for his car dealership. Now, he posts my code and asks the people here to help him. Please, don't!

    HI everyone

I'm terribly sorry and did not mean to cause any problems to James. I can see how adding his script is wrong but I am new to this so please accept my apologies.

James- I am profusely sorry for adding your script to this thread. I was so close to getting it to work so I looked for help. I now know that this is not an excuse.

Again, I apologise for this and can fully understand your annoyance at this.

    Best regards

You could have asked *me* for help; I like to teach. Instead, you posted my code and went to others. PLEASE, REMOVE IT!
