How does HTML scrapping work and what resources are available for a beginner?
Hi I am between and novice and intermediate stage in html and I have come across this page in a simple google search, http://docs.python-guide.org/en/late...narios/scrape/, (I only read the page and not put it in practice) what I want to do is scrape certain parts of some pages and save it all in one page offline for quick reference.
For example http://espnfc.com/player/_/id/22774/...onaldo?cc=5739 under the appearance tab, I want to save all the entries and any upcoming entries and from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cristiano_Ronaldo the career stats part. So when I open the page it will update as new information is added.
Could someone please help me with a starting point.
One way: cURL to grab the page and DOM to parse it, using PHP.
