    Hello

I just started learning web development from the internet and all possible resources, finished HTML and CSS. Still have

some hesitation over them but can work with it and think that practice will make me expert on them. But now i am

confused what should i learn first PHP or Javascript? Please experts guide me about this a step by step guidance will

    be appreciated. ( e.g. HTML -> JAVA-SCRIPT -> PHP )

That's sad. They were only a couple of months old.

Anyway, I think the consensus was
    1) HTML
    2) CSS
    3) JavaScript
    4) PHP

At some point it would be good to learn some JQuery or another framework, if nothing else just to learn how to deploy pre-written scripts on your site.

I'm gonna add a couple of things that have served me well. Perl seems to be a dying scripting language, but I still run a couple on one site. Knowing a little bit about Perl may eventually be a good thing. Regular Expressions (RegEx) is the language of .htaccess. You should learn enough to know how to hack/modify any code you may copy/paste into your .htaccess files.

Whatever. The idea is to get at least a working knowledge of most of these languages. You can poke and hope from there.

I favor learning PHP before JavaScript. Why? Because I suspect that people who learn JS too soon tend to use it when it is not necessary.

I'm currently studying in comp sci and programming so I don't have as much experience as many others on here probably do but this is more or less the order that I began studying web dev languages in:
    1) HTML
    2) CSS
    3) JS, more CSS
    4) PHP, more JS, some Perl
    5) More PHP, some jQuery, AJAX

I've found that right now in my work (in an internship), it's mostly PHP

Well some of mine friends also suggested that learn PHP before JS started learning PHP. Thanks to you all for bringing some time to help me on this. I think moderator should mark this topic as solved.
