    resolved [RESOLVED] Competing js files...?

    I am teaching myself some code; appreciate your help with this:

    http://sonomasites.com/responsivelayout.html

    This page has both a responsive drop down menu and a fade-in slideshow. The slideshow code works on it's own, but doesn't like the scripts for the menu. If I remove them, it works.

    Here are the offending scripts:

    Code:
    </head>
    <body>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.7.2.min.js"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript" src="script.js"></script>
    Thanks so much for you help.

    After looking at your source code, the first thing I notice is you include 2 different versions of jQuery on the same page. Version 1.8.3 is included in the <head> of your page and 1.7.2 is included later in the <body> tag. Generally 2 includes of jQuery will break any scripts that use jQuery.

    I'd try removing one of the jQuery includes (which one may depend on what scripts are using jQuery and which version they require).
