    Favicon for Mobile Device

    Do I need to have the favicon tag like below on all pages for mobile device or just need to have it in the index page only? I have the favicon.png saved in the root directory but not sure if I need the tag in all pages. Thx.

    HTML Code:
    <link rel="apple-touch-icon" href="favicon.png">

    Generally speaking you should have it -- but unless you're making a web application I wouldn't bother with the half dozen plus sizes and variations that to be frank, piss all over your markup by the time you add them. Unless people are going to be making launchers on their desktop to your site directly (like for a web app) even mobile users will NEVER see those favicon, making them a waste of time and bandwidth.
