Too Clever or Overdone - Google Punished ebay for Breaking the Rules
It is currently hot news that Google has punished ebay for not following SEO rules properly, but some SEO experts are saying Google manually checked the pages for SEO and optimization and found out that ebay was making some ‘doorway’ pages which were particularly meant for SEO and (they think) not for SEO. Google mainly focus on one line ‘do it for people, and not for SEO’. This was a very clever step but I think it was overdone.
Google Latest SEO Updates – 2014
Unnamed Update — March 24, 2014
Many of the webmasters reported a change in the ranking of their websites so they made a conclusion that Google has made a soft update in Panda algorithm. But this news was never confirmed from Google
Page Layout Penalty — Feb 6, 2014
Google confirmed to penalize pages with too many ads on website layout above the fold.
These two updates were for 2014.
I don't think it was overdone at all -- if anything there's not ENOUGH penalization of sleazy scam artist SEO bull being done. I'm rather enjoying watching all the abusive SEO-tards running around like chickens with their heads cut off.
Take this latest "Panda" algorithm update -- which upranks legitimate sites and penalizes the sleazy scam artists; sadly that does also nab the ignorant nubes those scam artists preyed upon, but just maybe that should be an object lesson that anyone who 'specializes' in just SEO is likely a sleazeball huckster peddling snake oil?
... and yeah, it's going to penalize a few big sites too -- GOOD, keep the buggers honest! Oh noes, not that.
SEO needs to just die. SEO companies simply prey upon the misinformed. Content should be the deciding factor as to relevance of its ranking. Should overdone SEO be punished? Yes, search engines should start blacklisting sites that are SEO/Ad centric.
Yes Overdone SEO means we tried to go too quickly, SEO companies should take it seriously that game is always about content that how good content is, and not about making technical black hat changes in website.
