MBPr or MBA for running windows in parallel desktop with Visual Studio
I have just got in to a diploma course in Web Development. NET starting in September and will include the use of Visual Studio. I have decided to buy a Mac as it is my favourite OS. It is my understanding that it’s best to install Windows on a partition using bootcamp. For shorter sessions you can use Parallels Desktop and bootcamp for longer ones. As I‘ll be traveling quite a bit weight is quite important and good battery life. I have planned to buy a larger monitor to when working from home. I had my eye on a MacBook Air with a i7 processor, 8GB RAM with 256GB SSD (or possibly 512GB), but a little unsure if the RAM is enough to run parallel-with Visual Studio? I am also wondering if the 13 inch screen will be too small. Perhaps a 15 inch MacBook Pro with retina screen is a better choice even with the extra weight and price
If MBA is not enough for what spec in MBPr you recommend?
Would love feedback from a . NET developer who is running Visual Studio on a Mac.
Thanks in advance!
