Question Drawing App: HTML5 or Flash?

So I've got this conundrum for a web-based drawing app I'm trying to have made. It's one where users can connect in real-time to draw with each other in the same space (like an interactive whiteboard). This has been done plenty of times in Flash (sites like FlockDraw). But how practical would it be in HTML?

Trouble is, I've had difficulty finding the right sort of ActionScripters for the job, the program would then require Flash which isn't always available (iPhone, iPad...), and mobile compatibility is quite important. On the other hand DRM is virtually nonexistent on HTML, certainly not near the security Flash offers if that were needed. I'm also skeptical how Canvas would perform, and ultimately the image quality compared to Flash. An HTML program called Sketchpad is excellent at this, but how would that fare with many users online?

    Any advice is most appreciated.

HTML5 kills off flash; HTML5 kills off Silverlight; HTML5 makes the dinner and does the ironing too. HTML5 is going to save the (tech) world. I’ve heard it all in the last year or two. Very rarely have I seen a balanced article or a writer that understands the concepts involved. Even worse are the (non technical) tech journalists who write an article on this subject purely to boost their own exposure.

This article attempts to provide a bit of history on the subject. It also attempts to pacify the situation and explain why it doesn’t really matter.

This article focuses more on Silverlight than other technologies but the principles are the same for these too.

Of course HTML5 not Flash. Because HTML is too much better than Flash.

Industry developments suggest that 2015 is definitely not the age of flash over HTML5 anymore. Especially, if you are also targeting other environments than "classic" no-touch desktops.

Flash is abusive to the user machine, it poses a certain risk like the recent zero day on flash...

HTML5 is the way to go.

Think of it as being "Native" whereas with Flash you have to add in the support.

    Really a no brainer.

If you can't think outside the box, you will be trapped forever with no escape...

I'm not sure the answers here are very well informed. I use Flash and Canvas a lot. On a technical level, Flash (still) kills HTML for this sort of thing. Not that it can't be done in HTML5.. However, the downsides that kill Flash is that it requires a plugin that is both hated (for some good and mostly ignorant reasons) and not available on mobile browsers, which is a show-stopper if you want to support mobile browsers -- which you should probably want to support these days! But, if you want to target mobile native apps (yes, native, not those "UIWebView app packagers" like many HTML apps, ex Cordova or Adobe PhoneGap) then "Flash" has grown way beyond the plugin player -- you could still go the route of AIR, which is hugely popular today. If you want to support (default) mobile browsers, then you simply have no choice but HTML5. HTML5 wins by being the only option, the least common denominator.
