Yeah I know, I think they should have release a beta 3 too (as do most people on their forum). I haven't seen a great deal of difference from beta 2. Still at least it's a lot better than v6

I had a lot of trouble with the Opera 7 Beta that I tested and I had to go back to Opera 6.04 - which I like very much.

What problems did you have?

It kept forgetting to redraw the window when I followed a link. I'd have to scroll all the way down and then back to the top to see the new page.

I get that sometimes with Mozilla (in Windows) when Explorer crashes. Are you sure it wasn't a video card driver problem or something?

Opera version 7.01 is out now, which addresses a couple of vunerabilities.

Well Rick this time, it took a staggering long wait of 1 minute 10 secs to download the 7.01 12.6 MB version.

When I was testing Opera 7.0 it did seem to have a few quirks with JavaScript, which didn't appear within Opera 6.x.

I foound it amazingly difficoult to find the info of changes between 7.01 and 7.0.

Oh did it? I must admit I haven't tested it that much, but I suppose it's because the engine has been re-written from stratch. As someone said on their forum by the time 7.5 comes out most of the bugs will probably be gone.

Well, I've given 7.01 a few days and gone back again to 6.05. It's still forgetting to redraw the page often enough that it's just not usable.

And I miss being able to rid myself of the "Mail" menu.

Did you try with scissors?

That might work , but there might be an option in one of the INI files. I've recently found out how powerful they are, but I don't know much about them. I'm sure someone on the Opera forums would though.
