    Ah, thanks. I've heard that (for example, Estatos Unidos), but didn't know the actual rule for it. Not sure what the los means, though...

    it practically means "the" (plural masculine)

    So it's not really necessary then? For example, you saw patos morenos, but los patos morenos saw you? Or is it more in depth than the english subject/object idea I have in my head, not translating literally?

    i believe that you do use it more than in english, but i'm unsure, i just had 1 year of spanish, and that was like 3 years ago

    well actually, there have been questions about other languages too. i've had 4 years of high school spanish and am in my 2nd year of 300-level college spanish, so i could help out. i think i'll go ahead and make the thread.

    First year of Spanish. if you pass Spanish I, then as a Sophomore you take Spanish II, so on to Spanish IV.

    True... But in spanish they put that before almost any noun... I'm not sure how it works exactly. Aren't the green ducklings cute?

    yes they are, but i wouldnt say they are green, they are more like "not too yellow"
