    If you like the British style of humor a la Douglas Adams, you'll love it. Well..."it" is not quite the right word, since there must be around thirty of them now. (I think I've read close to 20 of them so far.)

    The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy is Adams' his best-known book, though my favorite was The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul.

    Anyway, as far as Discworld goes, take a look at http://www.terrypratchettbooks.com/discworld/ and then start with The Color of Magic and learn to fear The Luggage.
