I think that's overdoing it just a bit.
'Where art thou from, sir Lynn?' sounds more appropriate to me.

Well, yes, but if (s)he was a she, then I could just edit the post. And if I did put it as female, then I'd have to consider she might be a he.

Well, come on! If your name is Jon, you're Jon. Not JONA! Cut off teh phuckin' "a" already! And Lynn sounds neutral to me, like Terry, or Alex.

And 'Jona' does not sound neutral to you?? The name 'Jona' orignates from the book 'Jona', in which there was a man named 'Jona', in the bible. I know many people with the name; both male and female. 'Jona' is a neutral-gender name.

    LOL,
Doesn't matter if you read the bible. I was just pointing out the name's origin.

I do agree that most names that end in an 'a' are female; there are exceptions.

not to bring up religion, but the 40 year journey taken by the jews across the desert would have taken a snail 2 years, 8 months, 16 days.

Also, no to bring up relgion, but they did not journey for 40 years. They stayed in the desert for 40 years as punishment for defying God.
