    There are several possible reasons why the error occurs. You have to provide us specific information so that we can research and fix any examples that you find.

    ...You have to provide us specific information so that....
    Well, I will see if I can make this actual post behave for you.
    It starts with plain text and then BB code for "indent" and "quote".
    Let's say that I have unfortunately made an un-spotted typing error

    This is then followed by text and then BB code for "code" and "color"

    [code][color=navy]
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <html lang="en">

    <label><input id="myinput" type="text"> : number now gets commas onkeyup</label>

    <script>
    (function() {
    'use strict';

    var el=document.getElementById('myinput');

    el.addEventListener('focus',function(){this.value='';},false);
    el.addEventListener('keyup',function() {
    el.value=el.value.replace(/\,/g,'');
    if(el.value!=='') {
    if(!el.value.match(/[0-9 ^.]$/)) {
    el.value='';
    el.focus();
    }
    else {
    var number=el.value.replace(/\,/g,'');
    var n=number.split('.')[0];
    var d=number.split('.')[1];
    n=n.replace(

    coothead - as you can see - I was unable to repeat the error...which will make it hard to fix.

    We need to know what you typed so we can make adjustments to have it pass through.

    Well, did you follow this procedure after making the post?

    I don't see this...

    Will you go back and make an edit?

    Hi there Steve R Jones,

    this is just to reiterate the problem as simply as I can.

    • I make a post that contains text and code within BB code tags.
    • I "Submit Reply" and the post is rendered perfectly well.
    • I read the submitted post and notice an error in the text or the code.
    • I follow the normal editing procedure and "Submit Reply".
    • I am presented with the warning page.
    • I return to the page and find the post to be truncated and useless.
    • The only cure is to edit the page, remove all the content and apologise for error.
    • I then make a new post.

    Sporadic, and it is causing fits for me too.
    Seems if we are quick, things are ok, but when the save kicks in, that is when the trouble starts for me.

    It'll get fixed... When I try to edit post #21 - it now produces and incident number which really helps the developers.

    and it was editing a post that needed the code block editing to add a " after the action="javascript:;

    This issue keeps on cropping up on posts where code blocks are being edited and IMHO its the forum parsing the post on submission thats failing because the code will post but editing is what causes the errors and truncation of code.
    --> JavaScript Frameworks like JQuery, Angular, Node <--
    ... and please remember to wrap code with forum BBCode tags:-

    [CODE]...[/CODE] [HTML]...[/HTML] [PHP]...[/PHP]

    If you can't think outside the box, you will be trapped forever with no escape...
