I am becoming more and more convinced that Google is not as good as I used to think.
I did a Google search for "PHP" (I am looking for links to bookmark, since I lost all mine with the reformat), and on the first page, ninth result, there lies AVG! AVG has nothing at all to do with PHP... but there it is. I looked at several other pages and found more results for AVG, and some other anti-virus software and various other things having nothing to do with PHP. I found a lot of the relevant results are further back than you might think.
How good is Google, exactly? My faith is beginning to wain...
Thousand different paths
So many sterile ends
I chose the Devil's path
Never shall the sun kiss my face
And caress me with it's burning light
For I dwell in the shadows
And sleep side by side with death
Hmmm... that is the problem, isn't it. Google is so large and ubiquitous, that people over-look its deficiencies because there is nothing else. Google is becoming the next M$.

I have started to notice that some "Web Site Listing Search Engines" are now taking over Google.
For example: I type in HTML tips and it would come up with a link to a page within another search engine showing results of your search on google, but the links are usually poor and most commonly, dead.
Since the "Florida"(?) update, Google's results have been up & down. I have a client who sells orthotics. One search term brings my site up in the first 5 listings, and theirs is nowhere to be seen. And I only have a link to their site, with a short description of the work I did for them (it contains a reference to the search term in question). My site has nothing to do with orthotics, or the search term used. Go figure.
