    Additional vertical space

    I seem to have additional vertical space, the scrollbar shows (it looks about 60 pixels). I also want to add header type divs to each box but they keep shifting.

    Here is a link to the main stuff

    https://jsfiddle.net/rocky050371/bcm2w6rb/

    Surrounding it is the master page

    HTML Code:
    <body>
        <form id="SiteMasterForm" runat="server">
            <asp:ScriptManager ID="ScriptManager" runat="server"></asp:ScriptManager>
            <div>
                <div class="siteheader">
                    <div class="headercolumn1">
                        <div>
                            <asp:ImageButton ID="ibRFIDLogo" CssClass="rfidlogo" runat="server" AlternateText="RFID Discovery Logo" ImageUrl="/Images/RFiD_Discovery_Logo.jpg" OnClick="ibRFIDLogo_OnClick" />
                        </div>
                    </div>
                    <div class="headercolumn2">
                        <p class="companyline1"></p>
                        <p class="companyline2"></p>
                    </div>
                    <div class="headercolumn3">
                        <p class="companyline1"></p>
                        <p class="companyline2">Administrator</p>
                    </div>
                    <div class="headercolumn4">
                        <asp:ImageButton ID="ibLogout" ImageUrl="~/Images/log_out_64.png" OnClick="ibLogout_OnClick" runat="server" />
                    </div>
                </div>
                 <div>
                    <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="sitecontent" runat="server">
                    </asp:ContentPlaceHolder>
                </div>
            </div>
        </form>
    </body>

    Hi, two points:

    1. You have not posted the CSS, so it is impossible to say what might be causing the problem.

    2. I'm not sure that it is (purely) a CSS issue anyway as you seem to be using a page builder of some sort?

    first off, stop using position:absolute. it has its place in CSS, but, usually as a last resort.

    use float: and clear: instead to setup your grid of boxes

    Hi,

    I am using the new CSS3 table, table-cell rather than using float, the only issue remaining is the v scrollbar shows as it thinks it is a few pixels bigger than the screen.

    Where should I be using the clear exactly?

    I don't see a vertical scrollbar (top-bottom) but I do see a side-to-side, horizontal scrollbar. Use a reset such as this at the top of your CSS file:
    Code:
    * {
    	margin: 0;
    	padding: 0;
    }
    In dog beers I've only had one.
