    How to develop site

I'm trying to decide whether to create a site using drupal or whether to build it using frameworks like, bootstrap, angular, JQuery etc. I have experience in coding HTML, JavaScript, SQL, PHP etc. I have experience with WordPress and a couple of other CMSs but I haven't used drupal yet. I find CMSs tend to be a bohemoth with all kinds of functionality I don't need, hard to understand but they can save a lot of tedium. I want to build a social networking site with multiple members and groups where members can belong to 1 or many groups and only have access to groups they are a member of. Each group has a page and a calendar. It needs communication between members etc. Drupal Open Social might be able to do it. Any guidance welcome. Thanks

There are a couple of things and how much time you want to spend on getting it done.

I may look at joomla and its socialmedia plugins.

It is good that you've decided to use an unknown technology for building a website. You can learn about it easily from online sources. In my opinion, it is better if you build your website with WordPress because you already know about how it works.
