    Entries in XML file have no structure after update. How do I fix this?

    I have a PHP script that adds entries to an XML file. The problem is that the newly added entries have no structure.

    Here is what I mean:

    Code:
        <product>        <name>XYZ</name>
            <quantity>270</quantity>
            <price>10.00</price>
            <delivery>Up to 3 days after ordering product</delivery>
            <costs>3.50</costs>
        </product>

    <product><name>WYU</name><quantity>250</quantity><price>14.50</price><delivery>Up to 3 days after ordering product</delivery><costs>3.50</costs></product>

    How do I fix this issue?

    Thank you in advance for your answers!

    Tough to say without the relevant PHP code.

    This can reformat that line, though you'd then need to strip out the first line of the output:
    PHP Code:
    <?php

    $text
    = <<<EOD
    <product><name>WYU</name><quantity>250</quantity><price>14.50</price><delivery>Up to 3 days after ordering product</delivery><costs>3.50</costs></product>
    EOD;

    $doc = new DOMDocument('1.0');
    $doc->loadXML($text);
    $doc->preserveWhiteSpace false;
    $doc->formatOutput true;
    $xml_string $doc->saveXML();
    echo
    $xml_string;
    Output:
    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <product>
      <name>WYU</name>
      <quantity>250</quantity>
      <price>14.50</price>
      <delivery>Up to 3 days after ordering product</delivery>
      <costs>3.50</costs>
    </product>
