Help! Comments and Constructive Criticism Invited

I've just recently put up this site. It is a work in progress and pages will be added continuously. I'm looking for feedback and constructive criticism so that I can improve my site. Please visit http://www.discover-stkitts-nevis-beaches.com and let me know what you think. Thank you.

    Hi,

Although I think your site looks good there are a few problems:-

Main problem - the pages are very large. Your index page is over 200KB in size which would take a fair amount of time on a slow connection. Take a look at http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ for some help here.

Your site doesn't validate properly : Validation Results. Valid HTML coding should ensure that your pages look as you hope in a variety of browsers (although it certainly doesn't guarantee it).

From an aesthetic point of view I think it would look a little more pleasing if there was a left margin of 5-10% or so. There just seems to be a lot of space on the right hand side of your pages.

The only other thing is that you've used tables for your layout rather than CSS. I don't have a problem with this but some of the more knowledgable (and purist) contributors to this board don't seem to like this approach. A quick search of this board should give you the arguments for and against this technique.

    Hope this helps mate,
    Dan

you got a few minor code errors. your site is very prehistoric in the sence that it doesnt use anything new incoding. nothing such as php, css (no css templating/colours or for layout) and your also using tables for layout. tables for layout is good in some points but over using makes the site much bigger and slow to load for slow internet connections. also you dont need to do this but, you could add a width and height tag to your images (i dnt recommend this if you change nav images allot)
    - i would start by converting to css, i dnt know if you have ni training in it but y not learn online http://www.w3schools.org
    - a good article why tables for layout is bad... http://www.patcon.com.au/forum/newsread.php?newsid=19
other than that good start keep it up
ohh if u wanna learn about php go to the site http://www.php.net

This site also uses tables, yet everyone here (that's smart) hates them!

Ambiz: Your site looks not too bad, you should fix up the validation errors, and get rif of that hover effect on the menu (or change it, because the yellow glow doesn't look good). Also, when I disable images, there's no navigation. Fix these up and it'll be better

Thanks to everyone who commented on my site and gave suggestions. I appreciate your comments very much. The advice about using CSS is especially welcome. As a result I have started learning about CSS and when I know enough will implement the changes on my site. I will also seek to correct the validation errors on my pages. I will send a post when I have implemented the changes for comments. Once agin thanks very much and keep up the great work with this forum.

    Regards,
