47% of consumers expect a web page to load in 2 seconds or less.
40% of people abandon a website that takes more than 3 seconds to load.

Before we can fix our bounce rate, we have to fully understand what bounce rate is.

IMHO, you shouldn't worry about bounce rate. Worry instead about time on site. In most cases it's getting at the same issue, but a better measure of success/failure.

That said, WHY the person leaves your site makes a big difference. If they left because they didn't like your site – that's a problem. If they left to go visit your sponsor and buy something – that's great. And bounce rate can't tell you whether it was a good bounce or a bad bounce.

Bounce rate is used in website traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of people who arrive on your site and leave without visiting a second page.
You need to do following tasks to reduce the bounce rate:
    1. Speed up your website load time
    2. Make it mobile friendly
    3. Publish Quality and informative content

That's not true it's based on the time someone have spend on a website rather then how many subpages he have visited.
