I guess there's no single answer because it all depends on many factors:

    1. How targeted your email list is.
    2. How unique your product/service is.
    3. Has it a high demand?
    4. How well your offer is written.
    5. How good your offer is compared to offers by your competitors.
... and the list goes on.

During my experience, I had from 0.05% to whooping 10% conversions. But once again, it depends on the factors listed above.

I can't tell you the percentage e-mail marketing channels would provide to you because those are metrics that only you would know. I can tell you that e-mail marketing is the best and most consistent lead generating channel with the best conversion rates. Referrals can have better conversion rates, but they are just not as consistent as e-mailing.

Nurturing Leads with Marketing Automation Software. Marketing automation software allows marketers to build out email marketing “tracks” from within the software. A marketing track is a collection of emails delivered over time for a specific type of buyer, or a distinct area of interest.

Getting leads from email marketing is subject to write eye-catching headlines for your emails. if your emails could not be reached to the mail inbox then it is hard to get leads from emails. If you are able to deliver emails in users inbox then your chances are high to collect leads. Always try to make your email subject shot and interactive.

Sending helpful, informative emails to a qualified email list will drive those people to your website to learn more information. Sending your list a quick email telling them about a new blog post on your website will drive them to your website to read a blog post they may have never known about.
There are even a few tools which can give you the leads you are keen on which will improve your work. These tools will help you to get enough leads you require and can help you to get quality leads. Tools to get leads regardless your functional domain are,

Email marketing depends on focusing on your target. If you are using new lead generation so you do not get a good response but if you using old lead generation then you get good respons.

Do you have any proof to support your statement? (Should be trustworthy.)
