    It can, if your website with this domain has poor quality content in comparison to other websites which rank himself with the same keyword, or looks like spammy and directs to your another primary website, it can be penalised.

    You will find that you are talking about something from FIVE YEARS AGO IN 2012 when google updated its EDM algorithm

    is nonsense, EDM will penalise you for having an EDM on a name that google considers to be spammy or is a very common keyword to be used in anything in the page, title, meta, doesn't matter, the more that word is used, the more it can damage your ranking.

    yes definately, if we use a keyword in domain, it will hit with EMD filter. It is good for SEO but we have to optimize our web page properly and content quality should be high and it should be definitely fresh. So, with only doing domain name with keyword your SEO will not be completed, if you do all other SEO factors very well then only it will be helpful for SEO.
