The end tag is , not
You have created a condition of orphaned tags.

BTW, welcome to the forums.

But I did.
The correct use of the tag is:
Code:
this is me

If you want to output the tags themselves, if it's within a .html page, then you could use:
HTML Code:
this is me
But I suppose the "best" answer depends on what your actual requirement is. If you want an entire file to be output with the tags showing, you could probably just rename it with a ".txt" suffix; or there are other tricks if using PHP or another server-side language.

He could also do a 'right-click' and choose the 'view source'
Copy and past the output to an editor and print from there.

If using the HTML entities for < and > I would do both and use
Code:
this is me
