    Just out of interest, how does this Gmail invites thing work? I seem to have completely missed it - one moment Gmail is in private beta (and causing privacy concerns) and the next moment everyone's fighting for invites to get an account.

    I wouldn't mind a GMail account. Except its in beta so you can't register. Never mind eh!

    First of all, I must have given the wrong impression. I'm not looking for people to use my Gmail invites on. I've got a long list of people that I know personally who I'm sure would be thrilled to get an invation.

    Secondly, the invites show up in big, red text under the search box. You can't miss it.

    Are you saying that Google randomly invites the beta testers on the google.com homepage by having a link to register?

    Nope, that's not what I'm saying... I was answering RefreshF5's question about where the invites will show up - under the search box once he logs into Gmail, though he may not have any, at least yet.

    You could offer something here:

    http://www.gmailswap.com/

    Neil
    if($neil=="stuck"){echo("Help!");
    pull_out("hair", $neil);
    $neil=bald;}
    else{echo("What do you want?");}
