I was considering snagging a few flash games/ movies for my site, just for some more traffic, (and so I could play them at school and be able to say I was on my own site- one day left) and I was wondering if this was frowned upon, assuming you realize I wouldn't be implying I made them. I know many, many people do this, so it wouldn't be a first, and I would be uploading them to my own site, so it wouldn't be bandwidth hogging...

I host them from my own box so I do not have have to worrie about the network blocking them, then I play them and watch them at school. Actually the full gallery is on another kids box, but its not online, he hosts it and there is a login to get to it so only cool people can play games at the site.
I'm sure as long as you give the sites full credit it should be fine. You might want to mail the sites first for permission as you wont want to end up with a lawsuit...
I'm sure they would let you as long as you advertise them a bit!
LOL! Lawsuit on the web? That'll never happen- my site isn't high profile enough. If it was, I'd buy a domain and actual hosting and get some advertisement deals going, so I can pay for it. Nah, I'd just snag a few games, put 'em up and link to others. I just didn't want to find out later that there's a lot of people who'll find it unprofessional or incorrect (like using <img src="http://www.foo.com/blah.gif" /> on bar.org).
Who cares if you take stuff from newgrouds its not like they do not have that advert in the installer, plus everyoen has a link within their cartoon to their site practically everyone atleast.
fair enough. i'm sure it wouldn't be a big deal anyway. Also if you put a .htaccess password on the directory, you could stop anyone other than your friends using the files. Thus the original source website finding out you have them...
Heh. Nah, these things are gonna be there for every1 to see. And, yeah, most peoples have links to the original source in their games/movies. As for the original source finding out? I'm sure they know their stuff is getting jipped.
