Delecting only the Selected Items

Hi,
Please I have been trying to develop an application that allows you to delete only the selected items. The items will be drawn from the database and if you check the checkbox beside any item and click delete, the item should be deleted. You can select multiple items if you like. It's similar to yahoo or hotmail where you just check those mails you want to delete and click delet button.

Please I need your help on how to do it. Thanks

What type of environment are your developing in? eg. Java on Windows.

The concept will be the same for most languages.

Yes, that is what I want to do but no slight ideal on how to go about it. Am using ASP for my development. Any futher assistance will be appreciated.
