Beginner needs a little help plz.

Hi, I'm new to this whole html web page design and all, but ive got most of it understoud. The thing is, i designed a layout for my page and it looks really cool. Now i want to like put stuff in it. I know how to make tables, links etc.
But my problem is, i dont know how to make them go exactly where i want them on my layout.
Like say i create a table it will just stick to the side of the page or something, when i want it to be placed on a specific place on my layout.

If someone could tell me how to make a table stay in a certain position on my layout i would really apreciate it.

    thanks

    try this:
    PHP Code:
    <div style="position:absolute; top:100px; left:100px">content</div
that puts the area 100 pixels from the top and 100 pixels from the left.

I have something that looks like this, it works good to positione it, but the problem is, if i minimize the window, the table dont move also, they stay at those pixels:

    <table style="Position:absolute; top:205; right:900;"><a href="http://www.xmattx.50megs.com/pictures.html" target="_blank"><font color="WHITE" face="ARIAL" size="3">Pictures</font></a><br></table>

it works to position my link, but then it moves if there are any obstructions, like a side search bar or something. How do i like lock it in place?

It's the user's right to choose whether they have a side search or favourites bar. you just have to work around that...
