    search capability

Beginner here. I need to set up a search form on a simple html page, that a customer can use to search for certain data that is contained a text file that sits in the background. It's basically a listing of professionals that have certain credentials and experience that customers may want to know about or find the best qualified for the job. I dont' want to get into to much database maintainance, so I'm just going to nter a bunch of text in a single document and if the customer searches for a text item (i. e. zip code) I want all the entries that have that zip code listed to show up. If I'm not explaining myself good enough, please ask for more info.

I would mark up all of the data as HTML and then use Google.

You know I tried that on another site and looked up words that I KNEW were on the site, yet got no hits on my pages. Dont' know if I configured it wrong or not, but it kind of turned me off from that idea. I'm willing to try again and would appreciate any insight on what I did wrong (www.arkansas-investigations.com - index only). Guess I ought to contact Google, but I'm small potatoes.
