should WIN_XP service pack 2 be avoided?

I've heard some bad experience people have had with M$' new service pack 2 for XP. Should it be avoided at all cost?

I have heard mixed good and bad experiences. I do not plan on getting it for a while, which is mainly a because I am lazy, but even if I were not, I would not get it right away. I would give it a little time before some of the kinks are worked out. But I do plan on getting it eventually.

I have it and trust me it will slow your computer way down. My dad was suprised when I told him I had downloaded it. He said and I quote "You downloaded service pack two and it still runs"

It shouldn't destroy anything. But keep in mind its new. Software can only be bug tested and stress tested so much before it hits the market. If it were a new web browser I would download it, but I do not know about an os (well major change).

Ps anyone notice in mozilla when you start typeing into the address bar then click a url that pops up it does not fill in the url you clicked in the address bar and proceeds to redirect you to what you started to typed. For example, I type http://f and it will popup forums.webdeveloper.com, but I click that and all of a sudden I get connection refused at www.f.com.... Annoying bug.

I've got a firewall. Why would I want SP2? No doubt there are plenty of little shift heads trying to find holes and bugs in it to attack anyone that downloaded it.

there are plenty of those for xp sp1 too . But that is why I would wait a month or two for some of the big security updates to go through and for some of the annoying bugs to be patched.
