I need to delay the page for 5 seconds before it redirects using

<cflocation url="index.cfm">

Does anyone know how I might do that?

Can I use javascript?

It can be done with an HTML meta element.

<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5;url=http://some_url/page.cfm" />

Simply alter the URL and place that code in your head section.

If you're using MX, you can now use the following lines of code for a 5 second delay:

<cfobject type="JAVA" name="obj" class="java.lang.Thread" action="CREATE">
<cfset obj.sleep(5000)>
