    changing the dir of a select box

    is it possible to give a DIR="ltr" to a select box in a td
    while the <TD> DIR is opposite?

    what about the css property? or doesn't that have any support?

    It does align correctly:

    table cell text "rtl"
    <select name="select1" dir="ltr">
    <option value="1">text</option>
    <option value="2">option text "ltr"</option>
    </select>
    </td>
    </tr>
    <tr>
    <td dir="ltr">table cell text "ltr"</td>
    </tr>
    </table>
    If you take the dir="rtl" out of the first cell the alignment changes
