I have made a website with an Access DB.
Now I'm getting more and more visitors (what's a good thing)
But..., i know this can cause trouble with an Access DB.
So I have two questions about this:
- At what amount visitors a day will I get problems?
- Is it easy to recode it to another kind DB (I always have done Access)?
I use Access DBs for some quite high volume websites and never once experienced a problem, tbh.
I suppose it depends on how much you are reading from and writing to it, how often you are doing it, how you are using it, so its difficult to say at what volume of visitors you will experience problems, if at all.
Tnx for your reply Glenn.
It's good to know that you don't get any problems.
The reasen I asked it, is because in my first ASP lesson (trhee years ago) my teacher told me that.
But I did not noticed something from it, ever since.
One thing I should note, with all databases you should back them up regularly, just in case.
I've heard that Access can be prone to corruption, but as I say, I've never had a problem and I produce websites for schools, which get quite a large hitcount.
