if you are going to link to a website (monkeymedia.tk) its probably a good idea to own that site and have something on it, before somebody else does.
what the dropdown menus at top of screen are for is unclear, so is where they take you.
AskWel logo links to the same page as the community button, seems a bit pointless and potentially confusing for users. Also, this logo is bigger than the site's main logo. Not exactly selling yourselves and your services if it comes across that you value someone else's logo more highly than your own. apart from that it reduces the clarity of the design and could confuse users as to what page they are actually on. Make yours bigger, and maybe you could have that sweeping blue swoosh following into your buttons (change their color to match).
home links around in a circle, again confusing for users who lose track of where they are easily. and its bad practice to make users waste time following a link that goes no where. disable links to the page that they are on.
about us: page is different design to home
community: add to favorites and it tells to that it is the HTTP Guru main page, when obviously it is not.
advertise: different design again, or is that diffrent design check your spelling
contact us: is actually 'support', and doesnt mention anything about contacting us or why you are being asked to log in
none of these sub pages have a link to the home page
GURU's Top Downloads and Webmaster Resources: titles are in the same font as the links. little bit unclear to look at, have to mouseover to find out what is and what isnt a link.
Webmaster Resources/articles pages is a different design yet again. users will be asking themselves if they are still on the same site, especially when the rest of the links in that section go to other websites. should really tell users that or you risk losing them to a site they might find more interesting.
same goes for the links on the left column. if youre going to link to another site atleast open it in another window so the user is still in your site.
Our Favorite Freeware: seems redundant as they are the same as the webmaster resources at the top.
search for: seems a bit far away from the search box. and it doesnt work.
main section: what are you planning to have in the main section of the page? if you havent got anything id suggest turning all those confusing buttons and various links into small div's with an image and an explanation saying where the link goes. fill the page with lots of these small boxes and create a good-looking user freindly resource page.
coding: theres lots on the internet about not designing sites using tables. look it up, and then do what you want to do with divs.
Great idea for a site. ive already bookmarked it for future use as i think the more web developers and designers share with each other the better the internet can be. work hard to get the site right and you'll be rewarded by other developers and designers using it and then you'll get a good reputation.
GURU's Top Downloads and Webmaster Resources should probably start on the left hand side instead of the right hand side. I think that would make it look better.
-Links on top in catagories GURU's Top Downloads and Webmaster Resources should be a differnt color than the text is. It makes the links easier to find.
-Add some content to the main portion of the front page, there is nothing there.
