Question Linking directly to a specific PPT slide - Found the answer!

    Hiya all

Can anyone help me?? I have quite a rudimentary web page just wanting to link directly to a specific PPT slide e.g. slide number 5 rather than at the beginning. I think bookmarks cannot be created in PPT otherwise that could have solved my problem

Thanks in advance to any replies

    I don't think you can.
Unless you rebuild the presentation in html, but that probably defeats the point.

    Got it!

Just for everyone's knowhow, I've worked out this problem.

    e.g. <a href="http://www.address.com/Folder/Presentation.ppt#269,7">LinkTest</a>

the key to this is after the hash #269,7
269 denotes the SlideID and 7 denotes the SlideIndex

you will find these random numbers by opening your presentation into IE first and these will appear at the end.

Hope this will help some people

cool. doesn't it work on slide number alone, without the id?

    Afraid not

    Dave

You must use both SlideID and SlideIndex for it to work
