Question How to create sharp thumbnails?

How to create thumbnail images eg. for web portfolios? Thumbnails I've seen are very clear, mine would have very blurred text. Is there a software to use or some techniques? I've been using Coffee Cup for thumbnail creation.

    Thanks.

Mainly, you just resize it to a smaller image. If you use a photo editor, that is probably a good way, but just adds to size. It pretty much falls down to, how good of a quality your picture is and the quality of your thumbnail. If your text is small and quality poor, you must expect bad results.

Resize and save it to a new image, choosing the quality level as you save it. In Photoshop e.g. you can choose "Save for Web" and then set the quality percentage for a jpeg to 100%.

    cheers, Jochem

That or you can just use the same image, but with different dimensions. The trick is keeping everything proportional. It needs to still look good, right?

I do this almost daily. I use an imaging sdk which can create thumbnails found on the internet . Install it and it becomes a selectable processing option. Then you can create thumbnails in your image in any program at all, including Adobe Acrobat . Just open the images, select thumbnail, and follow the setps given in the sdk, the task will be finished in several seconds. if you haven't found a good choice , you can have a try. best wishes.
