a common problem
just got a braodband connection with ADSL modem on my Win xp.
but the speed is very low,am not able to access a web page.
the speed is even lower than my dial up.
guys plz help me,its vey exasperating.
hmm, do you have eveything set up right? It can also be virus/spywear
go to http://www.dslreports.com/stest?more=1 find a speakeasy speed test, preferably one close to you. See what they get for your line. You might need to call up your dsl provider. I remember when my cable provider was working on my line my internet slowed ot a crawl, I called them and they gave me the skinny and did not charge me much that month.
Nick he said
am not able to access a web page.
Just call up your ISP and complain
yes, i have got my connections right,
very sadly my ISP is not to much help,
bcoz in our city we didn't have broadband before,so the officials don't know much.
link indicator of my ADSL modem actually doesn't lights up steadily,it keeps on flashing.does that indicate something.
Well the modem's lights should be flassing. That is correct. I have 2 of the 4 lights on my modem steady and two flash. On my router many of the lights flash too.
thanks guyz for all ur replies and suggestions,
but now bytes have started to transfer and its going well,
lets see for how long the halycon days wud continue, just took off those wires and reconnected those.
