How do you set up your server to be able to send email (like on a forum) how would you set up a sendmail or smpt program or ....

Do you have windows XP? If so, Home or Pro? If Pro - it comes with IIS server. Control Panel/Administration Tools/Internet Information Services. If it's not installed, go to control panel/Add Remove programs/Add Remove Windows Components(tab on the left)/Select IIS/Details/SMTP services. Once you install it you may/may not need to configure it. Do some Google search how to "configure IIS SMTP".
If you don't have WinXP PRO, you would have to get some sort of a SMTP server insalled on your computer. I don't know any good onces for I"ve been using ISS on my windows box. I heard that mercury SMTP server somewhat seems to work, but I would do some gooogling for "free sendmail for windows" and you'll be suprised how many there is to find.
