How to create and host Streaming Media?

I have a problem that I have been researching for a while now and not sure what to do.

I am in a bind here at work and have sort of a technical question for you.

I am trying to figure out how to stream audio so it seems live and so that it loops but can't figure it out.

What technique or programs do you use to do it? I am on a Mac. I would love to hear options even for a pc platform.
We do have a server that the streaming media will be kept on, I just don't know how to create it so it appears live or how to link it or make it work.

We have voice tracks that we want to appear live but in reality it's just a continuous loop.
