ok i made a site for a clan in a game i was wondering, say if i had a members section how can i password protect it i want a pulldown menu and a password field if any one can fix me up one that would be sweet thanks

You'd need a scripting language for that, eg PHP, ASP, or Perl. You'd also most likely need MySQL installed unless you use another method.

Outside of what benb7760 said, if you are running on Apache you may be able to use .htaccess and .htpasswd to protect a directory and force a userid/password
