    Server Down Message

Our server here at the school is going to be down and a project I'm working on would like to notifiy the user of this.

When a banking site is down and you attempt to check your account online, you get a message that states the site is currently down.

How do we go about doing this?

I know the question is complicated!

    Any help would be great!

If the web server is down, you'll have no way to display a message (unless you make contingency plan to temporarily host your domain on another server somewhere). A site like a bank might have a web server, an application server, and a database server; so if the application or database server is down, they can have something on the web server to display this to the user.
