register a domain

I've googled "domain registration" and came up with a fair amount of results with different pricings for registering a domain name. Are they all the same or are there some domain registration companies to avoid?

if you do a seach on this forum you'll see a nice thread about buying domain names... Perhaps even under the 'Domain Name Forum'... However I would think your best bet is to go with godaddy.com and just stay with them.

What? There are more forums than just the Development forums ??? I managed to find the 'Domain Name Forum' after you pointed it out and found 1&1 had the best price for me and I didn't see anything bad about them. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Oh, and I tried searching for the thread you mentioned but didn't have any luck.
