How Do I Take A SS Of An AVI

I have a video playing in windows media player and I want to take a picture of it. I know you use print screen, but when I go to paste and edit it in an editor the movie part can never be edited. Even when I copy and paste the movie part it doesn't show up.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem?
    Thanks In Advanced.

This is a common problem with Windows Media Player. There are multiple ways of capturing an image from the video. Windows Media Player Version 10 has its own capture service that you can enable through the settings, and if you search the help files for 'capture' you should be able to find it. Another way would be to play it with some other program like Irfanview with the AVI plugin, or even Divx if it's a certain type of AVI file.

Hope this helps, if not, respond and I can assist you further.

EDIT: You can also use Quicktime, but it's a bit confusing. If the other methods don't work, I can explain the Quicktime method for you as well.

I've always wanted to get screenshots of DVDs. I have software to do it, but it only takes 800x600. I would like a 1024 x 768 SS of the starship Enterprise E or SSs of Lord of the Rings. The dead city is SOOOOO cool!
