Setting value of <select>

Hey!

I have another concern.

I have something like this:

<select id="itemType">
<option value="blank"></option>
<option value="Demand">Demand</option>
<option value="Concept">Concept</option>
</select>

When a page that has this code loads it display nothing in this combo box (drop
down menu). In my onLoad function I have a variable which has
Demand or Concept. So, if that variable is Demand I want my
drop down menu display Demand and Concept if the variable Concept.
The question is how to set drop down menu item to the one I want?
