    Background help

I am trying to put a background on a site using css, unfortunately there are some parts of the site that are obstructing the background...I know there is a way to make the background appear over the other stuff as I used to be able to do it, however, its been years since I used any form of html, etc. and I can't remember how...does anybody know?

By definition a "background" is supposed to be "obstructed" isn't it?

If you have a box element through which the background is not visible, make sure you have not assigned a background color to it (even explicitly setting the style="background-color: transparent" if necessary).
