Its a bit ordinary, not much of a design.
And I noticed you didnt ask for thoughts on coding, so I wont share. But I'm sure someone else will tell you anyway

Might want to think about having a navigation bar that is consistent throughout the site, so that visitors can move from say the paintings section to plays section in one click. Not bad for a first attempt though. The color are ok i normally use color picker tools like http://www.easyrgb.com/matching.php#Result and http://www.hlrnet.com/colormatch/

argh tables!! if you were using css i would recommend using bigger links. eg. link boxes
