    question related to count

I want to ask few doubts

1)objrs.recordcount works in my local computer but when upload to server and check it on the server, the number of records are always displaying zero.
Even if there are some records in database, it shows zero on server
but it shows correctly on local computer.

So whats the wrong with objrs.recordcount

2)I like this forum very well. This forum solves our doubts.
But sometimes we need some doubts to be solved very soon.
So Is there any FREE ONLINE CHAT FORUM FOR ASP, PHP to chat related to asp, php doubts.

    Regards

sorry i can answer the first one not without having a look around.

but the second one in principle is a good idea but generally you will find more ppl looking for help than ppl willing to give help.

Also you would find it difficult to follow any one conversation with the possibility of tons of conversations going at once.

    Huge bandwidth drain probably

And general policing and getting in experts would be a hard task.

Don't know if this might hopefully help at all:

    Cursor & LockType Performance Report - 6/27/1999
    http://www.4guysfromrolla.com/webtec...3.report.shtml
Test was done for inserting recs instead of just getting them.
Use adOpenForwardOnly cursor type (the default) whenever possible for speed, but use adOpenStatic if want to use objRS.MovePrev or objRS.RecordCount.
Use adLockReadOnly lock type (the default) whenever possible for speed, but use adLockOptimistic when updating and deleting or adLockPessimistic if leaving a recordset open for editing which of course one shouldn't do on the Web anyway.
