The Hurricane broke the internet

Well not the internet, but the Abilene Network.... Do you guys know anything about how Katrina affected it? It looks like the connection between atlanta and houston is completely dead. I have not noticed and changes in my connection but our university is sitting right on top of the line practically (I am pretty sure the actual line runs right next to campus) and that is a huge backbone... AU is connected to Abilene and is an internet2 supporter last time I checked.
