    Video troubles on website

    Hi.
My name is Daniel, and this is my first post so I figured i would introduce myself. =)]

I'm currently working on building a website for a band, and im having trouble putting a video on the site. The website is being hosted by Geocities.com, which only alows 5Mb files at a time to be uploaded. So, my problem is this: The video i wish to put on the website is around 80Mb (after tweeking around and decreasing the videos size to get it down from 150mb) I have been unsuccesful at finding a way to put the video on the website. In fact, I haven't even found a website that would host a video this large. I would like to be able to put/stream the video onto the site.

1.) Any ideas how to do this?
2.) Any one know a website that will accept a file that large?

    Thanks,
    Daniel

first, welcome to the forums daniel!
then, i advice you to get a free host that gives 100MB of web-space, many do.
here, i have not tried them
    http://www.1asphost.com/webhosting/webhosting_free.html
    http://www.100webspace.com/

you can then either use them as host instead of geocities, or use them just to put your video, and link it through geocities.

But, sincerely, who do you think is gonna dowload a 80MB video?
You should definately put samples/pictures as well

    First and Foremost, Thanks.
Actually quite a few people don't mind allowing a video to load while browsing. The reason I need to put the video on is the band requested it for booking purposes.............Once i upload the video will i be able to put it on a page on geocities? If so, how? I can set up a basic page with css and/or html but im not expierienced with video files.

    thanks again,
    Daniel

Sorenson Squeeze will make that video way smaller.

I'd be concerned over other matters,,,,

Geo will corrupt files that they deem have potential for bandwidth abuse.
It's been long known that geocities corrupts swf after upload.

Get Flash and import it save as swf should make it smaller, if you dont wanna buy it get a demo and do it through that, or one better get some video editing software!

You don't need flash if all you want to do is convert a movie into swf or flv format.

SwishVideo is a great alternative at a reasonable price
It's extremely easy to use import a video and follow the tabs
