Is this CSS?
I'm doing a site for my band and the other guys in my band want access (login access) into the news and gigs section so they can update it too, and they know nothing about coding at all so using a login would be helpful. I asked someone and they said this can be done using CSS but I wasnt sure. Can anyone link me to either a relevant tutorial or some coding?
No, CSS only makes the page look pretty. This can be done with a side server language such as PHP, CGI, or ASP

I believe you mean "CMS" (Content Management System). Either do a search in these forums or Google. There are literally hundreds of possibilities.
Excellent, thanks. I thought it would be something like php myself but ironically the web designer at uni told me it would be CSS which thought was odd, and I was right for thinking that it was. Thanks again for replying so quickly!
Just to clarify, a CMS can be written in many languages including PHP.
Or you can avoid writing it at all. http://opensourcecms.com
