    how do you turn off the auto blank new document in DW?

    dw 8 right? if i remember right you can change it in the preferences (Ctrl+U) or the new document pane (Ctrl+N)

    oh yeah, i remember that's in dw 6, you can turn it on/off in the preference panel

    did you try to the new document panel it must be in there, if you still can't find it i'll install it on my other computer and find it

    that's sounds too much trouble...

    if you're bored, that's fine, but don't go to all that trouble just for me...

    in answer, no, here is the "new document" panel from preferences...

    ...nothing about "start dreamweaver with new document" or something...

    open the new document dialog (File > New Document or Ctrl+N) it is in there
