I have a site that is HTML, some 60 pages. Most of it is reference material which has a picture, address details and a descriptive text area. I feel the time is right to set this info onto a DB. My host gives me free MySQL DB's.
However, I know absolutely nothing about this and (at the moment) do not have time to experiment in detail and self-learn. Hopefully later.
What I am after is an easy way to set up and populate a MySQL DB. Then I need an editor (WYSIWYG if at all possible) so that I can create a good looking template and add in the search. This template will either be for (e.g.) a specific county - go grab the info for that and fill up the page, or it will be a typical user search page.
I have tried a few CMS type programs which were not to my liking.
Sorry Chazzy, but no. I had a look at some CMS progs but was not impressed by them. Maybe I looked at the wrong ones - I cannot remember their names now. The website might give an idea of what I want to transfer - www.marksalehouse.com - it is a presonal site.
